Women in Hospitality

The hospitality industry has changed significantly over the past 60 years, and women are becoming leaders with active opportunities and taking on leading roles within the hospitality market. FOH^® has earned our place as a leading women-owned company within all segments of hospitality: Food and Beverage, Travel and Tourism, Lodging, and Recreation. In the overall economy, 46.1% of employees are now women, and within the sector, this figure has grown to 53.7%.

Despite their significant contributions, women in the hospitality industry continue to face challenges such as gender bias, unequal pay, and limited opportunities for advancement. As we celebrate International Women's Day, let's recognize and honor the achievements of women in the hospitality sector and reaffirm our commitment to creating a more inclusive industry for all.

Alongside the remarkable and pioneering females in food service and hospitality, the culture of FOH^® is grounded in a vision to support the education and recognition of women in our industry. We aim to be a resource and platform that gives women the confidence to excel in leadership roles and continue to expand on mentorship. At FOH^®, we can proudly announce that out of our 57 team leaders (managers and above), 31 are female. As we continue to celebrate our success in empowering women as leaders, we know there are still massive strides to take.

In a field that is still mainly dominated by men, women can continue to lay the groundwork to lift each other up and to impact the hospitality industry. We support and encourage our community to connect like-minded leaders with organizations that encourage exchanging networks and resources through innovative workshops, movements, and events. As a business founded, owned, and run by women, we are awed by the progress that women have made within our industry and in the workforce as a whole. FOH^® is proud to be a certified member of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), and we take this distinction seriously. We hope to not only continue inspiring and supporting women to become empowered leaders, but to also make a diverse and equitable future possible.
