At 9:00 am on Saturday we headed off to the Lotus House event with all of our toiletry donations from our team members. A big shout out to all the team members who donated and especially a big shout to Jessica Williams, who donated boxes and boxes of shampoo and conditioner for the Lotus House ladies' welcome bag.

When we arrived, you could feel the joy and the willingness of women to help in the air. We gathered our donations and headed inside the building. As we entered the building, there were so many different companies represented by women, buzzing around with their donations. We noticed that apart from us representing FOH® so were our stainless steel products. How extra exciting.

We were introduced to some of the most impactful women of the Lotus House community and watched a moving video about how the Lotus House community gotWoman them back on their feet. It brought tears to my eyes along with the women in the crowd.

The statistics of women in different unfavorable situations were mouth dropping, terrifying, air gasping, and unforgiving. Experiences like this teach us that we don’t know what some women are going through. Afterward, we had lunch, and then proceeded to make our pink "welcome" bags for women in need. These bags were filled with toiletries such as deodorants, body wash, shampoos, conditioners, soap bars, lotions, toothbrushes, nail polish, acetone, etc. After we made as many pink welcoming bags as we could, we took a picture in front of a sign that reads “Love Yourself,” which is the first thing you see upon entering the building grounds.

I think from time to time we forget that loving yourself is the greatest lesson you will have to learn throughout your life journey. As soon as you learn to love yourself, you can spread that love towards others in need. We left with the notion that not only can one woman help another, but it takes a whole community to make an admiring impact.
